We apologise if you are having problems accessing electronic resources via Discover. Our colleagues in Computing & Information Services will be working on resolving the issue.

If you encounter problems using Discover, an alternative method is to search the catalogue, which provides a more stable route to access.

  1. Search for the title of the journal (not article) in the catalogue:
  2. Check that the resource you're looking for is covered in the years we have subscribed to. If it is not covered, then we have not paid for access, and you will need to make a ILL request for it.
  3. If we have subscribed to that year, click the link to go to the journal provider’s website.
  4. Navigate to the article. Usually you can search on their website by title, or browse to the year, then issue, then page number.

If you are still having problems, please contact us here on LibAnswers, or send an email to
