The RRS statement should be included in the funding acknowledgements section of the manuscript, and in any cover letter/note accompanying the submission, where possible.

Where a journal's submission system will not allow for this to be included in the submitted manuscript (for example, where any information which may identify the authors as part of a blind peer review process) then inclusion in any cover letter/note accompanying the submission should suffice.
